Nowadays there is a lot of fake info out there, so knowing English helps me to look for reliable news and better understand what's going on in the world. Learning to analyze information is key.

Another topic I saw was crime and punishment. Beyond the movies, it is interesting to see how justice works in other countries and how they explain it in English.
